CM Vijay’s son, Jason Sanjay, is all set to make his directorial debut with the film Sigma, which features Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah in key roles. Initially set for a release on July 31, 2026, the action drama has not been making much news, and the promotions have also not been that great.
This itself raises new doubts about the release, and it is now being reported that the film has been postponed and will only arrive in the month of August. This decision has been taken by the makers as they do not want to take on Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, which is also releasing around the same time.
Though the makers have not announced the release date yet, there is news that the decks have been cleared for a July 24 release for Jana Nayagan. Considering this, Sanjay and his team do not want to take on the mighty star.
If this news turns out to be true, a son’s debut film getting postponed due to the arrival of his father’s biggie would be a first in Indian cinema. The shooting of Sigma has been wrapped up, and post-production is currently underway.
With the reported differences between Vijay and his family due to the ongoing divorce issues, one needs to see whether Vijay gets involved in his son’s project and how both films will work out their release dates in the days to come.
