Vijay Must’ve Gone With Lokesh Or Nelson?

Thalapathy Vijay, who is one of the biggest superstars in South Indian cinema has ventured into politics and tasted tremendous success in his first campaign as he became CM of Tamil Nadu. So there was a lot that was expected from his send off film Jana Nayagan.

This Tamil remake of Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari which was modified for Vijay’s stardom in Tamil finally released theatrically the other day. Ideally, considering the significant spike in Vijay’s Stardom, Jana Nayagan must have been an iconic film.

But the first reaction for the film have been anything, but positive as people are calling it an absolute treacherous experience. There might be a few moments for fans here and there, but at large when it comes to the cinematic experience, it’s a bummer.

This is exactly why fans had been wanting Vijay to work with either Lokesh Kanagaraj or Nelson DilipKumar for his final film. They were always sceptical about working with H Vinoth for a film that’s so important as the farewell film for Vijay to sign off his 30 year film career.

Lokesh had already delivered reasonable films with Vijay in the form of Master and Leo. It is a fact that Nelson could not make a great film when he collaborate with Vijay for Beast. But any given day, these both are much better options than Vinoth.

On their day, both Lokesh and Nelson are absolutely unstoppable, and they can make refined commercial film with solid content. This is the kind of potency that Vijay must have opted for when selecting his sendoff film.

But there was a big misstep in selecting the director and that’s costing Vijay and his fans very badly as they are now served a bad social drama that looks outdated from start to end. This is not the kind of negative experience that Vijay or his fans needed at this point.
