With Srinivasa Mangapuram releasing worldwide on July 30, debutant Jaya Krishna Gattamaneni is eagerly awaiting his first step into Telugu cinema. Directed by Ajay Bhupathi, the film also features Bollywood actress Rasha Thadani playing female lead, and Mohan Babu in a significant role.
Jaya Krishna shares that the project came his way after producer Gemini Kiran introduced him to director Ajay Bhupathi. While he had listened to multiple scripts, this one impressed him with its emotional depth and powerful protagonist.
He revealed Mahesh Babu’s response after watching the film. “Mahesh Babai loved Srinivasa Mangapuram and felt extremely happy after watching it. He appreciated the action episodes and songs, and said I looked completely transformed on screen. His encouraging message means a lot to me. I also feel blessed to make my debut through Vyjayanthi Movies. This film has love, action, and strong emotions that everyone will connect with.”
Speaking about launching under Vyjayanthi Movies, Jaya Krishna said it is a dream start to his career, especially because Mahesh Babu also began his journey with the same banner.
He acknowledged that expectations are naturally high because of his family background but believes healthy pressure pushes him towards selecting quality stories. He expressed gratitude to Ghattamaneni fans for supporting him even before his first release.
According to Jaya Krishna, Srinivasa Mangapuram offers realistic storytelling with emotionally rich characters. “This is not a regular template love story. It has strong emotional moments and several unexpected twists.”
About his character in the movie, he says, “Srinu is a fun-loving youngster with a mischievous side. He knows exactly what he wants in life and is deeply in love with Manga. How their story unfolds is what makes the film interesting.”
Reflecting on the shoot, he said filming outdoors for nearly 70 days taught him invaluable lessons. He described Mohan Babu as affectionate off-screen and highly disciplined during takes.
Having learned martial arts before entering films, Jaya Krishna said action has always been his favourite genre. While some viewers compared him to Mahesh Babu after watching the teaser, he believes the audience will see only Sreenu once the movie begins.
