No Heroine For Allu Arjun-Lokesh’s Film?

Allu Arjun and critically acclaimed filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj’s collaboration, AA23, has already raised several eyebrows in the film industry. Adding to the excitement, every update related to the film is generating immense curiosity among movie buffs and Allu Arjun fans alike.

Recent reports suggested that Pooja Hegde would be roped in as the female lead opposite Allu Arjun. However, the latest buzz indicates that there may not be a major heroine in the film, as the story reportedly has no scope for a strong female character.

According to reports, Lokesh has penned a solid and gripping script that is driven entirely by the story, with every character serving the narrative. As a result, the focus is expected to remain firmly on Lokesh’s signature raw storytelling and Allu Arjun’s powerful screen presence.

This would be in line with Lokesh Kanagaraj’s previous cult classics such as Khaidi (Kaithi in Tamil) and Vikram, where the narrative revolved around strong male protagonists and antagonists, while the female characters had relatively limited importance or no major presence at all. Reports further suggest that AA23 may not feature a full-fledged heroine, making it an interesting creative choice.

On the other hand, Allu Arjun recently shot for Raaka, directed by Atlee, in which Deepika Padukone plays the female lead and has several crucial scenes. Meanwhile, the shoot for AA23 is expected to commence in August.
