Salman Khan and his sister Alvira have reportedly been summoned by a Chandigarh court in connection with a cheating case linked to the Being Human jewellery business. The case has once again brought an old business dispute back into the spotlight.
The complaint was filed by Chandigarh based businessman Arun Gupta. He alleged that he invested around Rs 2 to 3 crore to open a Being Human jewellery showroom after receiving several promises from those associated with the venture.
According to the complaint, the promised support and promotion never happened. Gupta also claimed that the supply of jewellery was disrupted, causing heavy financial losses to his business.
The complainant further alleged that Salman Khan was expected to inaugurate the showroom. However, the event was attended by Aayush Sharma instead, adding to his dissatisfaction over the commitments made.
Earlier, the licence holder for the Being Human jewellery business had issued a clarification stating that Salman Khan and Alvira were not parties to the agreement signed with the franchisee and had no direct role in the dispute.
The latest court summons has once again revived the legal battle. It remains to be seen how the case progresses and whether fresh developments emerge in the coming hearings.
