Will Suriya’s VAS Spoil Loki’s 100Cr Party For DC?

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s acting debut film DC stunned everyone. The film was lauded by Critics, trade and fans all over. DC is enjoying a strong run at the box office. The film has reportedly collected around Rs 80 crore in just 10 days, putting it within reach of the Rs 100 crore mark.

However, Suriya’s Vishwanath And Sons has now emerged as a strong competitor at the box office. The film is receiving positive response from audiences and good reviews from critics. Families, in particular, are reportedly turning up in good numbers at theatres.

This is a huge advantage for VAS over DC. While DC is a revenge action thriller catering only to some sections of audiences, VAS is universally appealing and welcomed by families, youth and all sections.

This strong response to Suriya’s Vishwanath And Sons could affect DC’s box-office run. Trade observers believe Suriya’s film may slow down the collections of DC, making it difficult for the Lokesh directorial to comfortably cross the Rs 100 crore mark.

At the same time, DC still has a chance of reaching the milestone. With around ₹80 crore already collected, the film needs another Rs 20 crore. If it manages to maintain a steady run over the coming days, the Rs 100 crore mark is still possible.
