Suriya’s Vishwanath & Sons is heading towards becoming the highest-grossing film of his career in North America.
So far, Suriya’s 24 holds the top spot with around $1.6 million in the North America. Now, VAS is set to cross that mark today.
A major credit for this solid run goes to Telugu NRIs. Interestingly, the Telugu collections of VAS are mostly double the Tamil collections each day.
As reported earlier, VAS had the right content for the NRI audience. With positive reviews and good word-of-mouth, the film has achieved the feat.
What makes this more interesting is that VAS is a straight Tamil film, as announced by the makers it is dubbed and released in Telugu, yet the Telugu collections are significantly higher than the Tamil numbers in North America.
Director Venky Atluri and producer Naga Vamsi are both from the Telugu industry, and Telugu audiences once again proved they own the film and make it big success if the content is good.
While VAS is doing well in the US, the film now faces the important Monday test in the domestic markets. It remains to be seen how the film performs today in both the Telugu states and Tamil Nadu.
