Firstly, kudos to Raviteja and Shiva Nirvana for choosing a socially relevant subject and telling it honestly without deviating from the core point. If you are a parent of a girl child, the film will prompt you to reflect and may lead you to make some changes in your current parenting approach.
Throughout the first half of the film, Shiva Nirvana superbly built the tension. The bond between the father and the son, Sai Kumar’s dialogues about girls and parenting, and the undercurrent suspense and thrill were nicely built along with a good pre-interval sequence in the first half.
Shiva Nirvana succeeded in writing the emotional drama and the twist in the second half well. However, the episode after the twist reveal, should have been a bit better. But, the director made sure to end the film with a very emotional climax. Also, the action episode with the ‘Mallepoola Pallaki’ song in the background, brought the roof down in the theatre with loud cheers from the audience.
Overall, Irumudi is empowering, thought provoking and entertaining. Raviteja is most likely to earn a lot of respect for doing such a socially relevant film.
