Sensational Malayalam film, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, is turning into Box Office money spinner, and the film is now aiming for a major milestone. With today’s collections, the film is expected to cross the ₹100 crore mark.
What is more impressive is the strong booking trend even on working days. The film continues to attract audiences well after its release, giving the trade more confidence about its long run.
With another weekend coming up and the Telugu and Tamil dubbed versions releasing on September 4, trade reports are now looking at the possibility of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit reaching the ₹200 crore mark.
The film revolves around a young woman, played by Mamitha Baiju, who moves to a new town with her family. There, she meets Justin, a single man in his mid-30s, played by Nivin Pauly. Their relationship forms the main base of the story, which explores love, marriage, family reactions and the reasons behind Justin remaining unmarried.
Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is a breezy family entertainer with plenty of genuine fun. It may not be as wholesome as Premalu, but it keeps the audience smiling through most of its runtime.
The next big test will come on September 4, when the Telugu and Tamil dubbed versions arrive in cinemas. The dubbed releases are coming nearly 15 days after the Malayalam version.
It will be interesting to see whether BKU can create the same magic in the Telugu and Tamil markets and add further strength to its already impressive box-office run.
