Exclusive: Dil Raju in Talks for Ramayana Rights at ₹105 Cr

Dil Raju is now reportedly looking at another big theatrical deal with Ramayana. After making a massive bet on Yash’s Toxic in the Telugu states, the latest talk about his interest in Ramayana has naturally raised eyebrows in the trade circles.

Toxic itself was a huge gamble on paper. Dil Raju acquired the Telugu states rights on a returnable basis, with the initial commitment reportedly at ₹108 crore before being revised to ₹80 crore. The latest Gulte report also says buyers paid around ₹75 crore at the last minute.

The interesting part is that the returnable structure significantly reduces the direct risk for the producer. Still, the film came with massive expectations in the Telugu market, especially after the extraordinary success of Yash’s KGF franchise.

Now, with Ramayana, another big number is being discussed. Dil Raju is reportedly in talks for the Telugu states rights at ₹105 crore on a returnable advance basis.

That means Dil Raju continues to show confidence in big pan Indian films and their potential in the Telugu market. But the Toxic experience will certainly make this next move even more interesting from a trade perspective.

Now all eyes are on whether Dil Raju will go ahead with the reported Ramayana deal. After Toxic, this could become another major bet that has the trade closely watching his strategy.
