Did Yash’s Mother Indirectly Counter Allu Aravind?

Following the disappointing performance of Toxic, social media has been flooded with criticism of Yash and his stardom. While the actor continues to enjoy a massive fan base, the film’s failure has allowed trolls to question his popularity beyond the KGF franchise.

Amid this, comments made by Yash’s mother have gone viral. Many fans believe her statements were an indirect response to those who often ask, Who was Yash before KGF?. Some even feel her remarks could be seen as a subtle dig at producer Allu Aravind, whose old comments about Yash had sparked controversy.

Few years ago, Allu Aravind was asked why his famed production house Geetha Arts has stopped making big budget films and is now focusing mainly on smaller projects. He cited rising production costs as the reason. When asked if stars’ high remunerations are driving budgets up, with Allu Arjun and other family stars cited as examples, Aravind disagreed.

He said lead actors generally receive only 20 to 25 per cent of a film’s budget, while a major portion is spent on making the film grand. Citing Yash as an example, he said, “Who was Yash before KGF?” According to Aravind, Yash’s stardom alone did not make KGF successful, but its rich scale, making and grandeur elevated the film and created huge buzz.

By connecting the dots, many believe that Yash’s mother indirectly countered the statement earlier made by the top Telugu producer.

Speaking passionately about her son’s journey in the Kannada industry, Yash’s mother said that he came from nothing and built his career through hard work. She pointed out that he did not enter the industry with money, influence, or a film background like several others. 

Yash’s mother strongly said, “Yash is not some random terrorist and was already a successful star in Karnataka before KGF and has delivered several hit films that proved his popularity”. She also questioned why people continue to ask who Yash was before KGF, saying that his achievements in Kannada cinema are there for everyone to see. 

Expressing her pride, she said she is proud to have given birth to a son who earned success on his own. While she did not mention any names, her strong words have sparked debate online. Many fans feel she has answered Yash’s critics in the most powerful way possible.
