Panjaa Mania Takes Over the Telugu States

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s box office clout has once come to the fore with the re-release of his stylish action cult film Panjaa, which hit the screens with premiere shows in Telugu states and Overseas on Tuesday night.

On the eve of the actor’s birthday today, the 2011 action saga directed by Tamil filmmaker Vishnuvardhan has been remastered and released in 4K. As expected, the film has raked in terrific openings with more than 3 Crore pre-sales across all territories. Trade circles predict that Panjaa is likely to be the highest opener among this year’s re-releases.

The mania has taken over completely with Mega fans celebrating vintage Pawan Kalyan as Jai on the big screen once again. Even after 15 years, the film holds a special place for fans because it presented Pawan Kalyan in a tailor-made role that redefined his swag and style.

Several videos from different single screens featuring massive celebrations involving fans have been making rounds on social media platforms.

The gangster drama set in the backdrop of Kolkata has Pawan Kalyan playing a hitman who works with a local don. The story turns into a revenge drama and finally ends up with Jai returning to the city to save his love interest.

Pawan’s suave look and his mannerisms were thoroughly loved by his fans despite the film ending up with mixed reviews in those days. The film featured Adivi Sesh, Jackie Shroff, Sarah Jane Dias in prominent roles. The music score and background rendered by Yuvan Shankar Raja turned out to be a big hit.
