SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi is being promoted as a massive adventure that combines time travel, mythology, and action. The film takes audiences to places like Africa and Antarctica and spans thousands of years, making it look like a full-fledged global adventure.

But Rajamouli’s repeated comments about the film suggest that the emotional side may actually be more important than the spectacle. Rajamouli has clearly stated that the core of Varanasi is the emotional relationship between a father and son.

He has repeatedly highlighted this aspect while discussing the film, even when talking about its massive scale, mythology, and fantasy elements. This makes Varanasi feel more like a typical Rajamouli emotional roller coaster presented on an extraordinary canvas.

Mahesh Babu plays Rudhra, while Priyanka Chopra Jonas plays Mandakini, and their characters are expected to share a strong romantic connection. This brings another emotional layer to the narrative, with the lovers’ track potentially becoming an important part of the story.

Prakash Raj is also part of the film and has confirmed that he plays a Maha Shiva Bhakt and will be seen as Mahesh’s father in the film. Interestingly, this emotional focus could be Rajamouli’s biggest weapon.
