The warm hug between Tamilnadu CM Vijay and Actor turned Racer Ajith Kumar at Silverstone has become one of the most talked about moments in Indian cinema. Vijay, now the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, met Ajith at his racing event in the UK and their warm interaction instantly went viral. The moment also reminded Telugu audiences of another massive fan rivalry between Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu.

During the 2010s, Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu represented two of the biggest fan forces in Telugu cinema. Their films, openings, records and social media trends often became reasons for intense fan wars.
