After experiencing Baahubali, we couldn’t any more deny that Rajamouli is the pioneer of making films that bank a lot on visual effects. And his upcoming magnum opus #RRR which features Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead is no exception as the film has lots of period elements to be recreated in computer graphics.
Reports are coming out that the cost of the graphics of #RRR is exceeding way beyond anyone has expected. Firstly the VFX companies are said to be quoting high to Rajamouli and Team for a reason. As the master craftsman never settles on inferior quality VFX work, each company is said to have to hired foreign professionals to deliver #RRR work. That is obviously increasing the VFX production cost.
And the second part is that Rajamouli is said to have asked for lots of finer details to be recreated in visual effects. From extending the sets digitally to adding many layers of visual effects for action sequences and recreating certain characters in order to make them do some impossible stunts, Jakkanna is said to have set lots of targets for VFX producers to meet. So naturally, that makes an impact on the budget, taking the costs to a higher level.
On the other hand, many are wondering if #RRR team will be able to dare Covid-19 pandemic and release in 2021 as expected. Bankrolled by DVV Danayya, the mega budgeted project has Alia Bhatt and Olivia Morison as leading ladies, while Ajay Devgan and Shriya are playing another important couple in the film.
