RX 100 Star Karthikeya’s Comeback With COMEBACK

Actor Kartikeya Gummakonda, best remembered for Ajay Bhupathi’s RX 100, is expanding his career into direction with a new film titled COMEBACK. The actor-turned-filmmaker has also penned the script himself, making this project a true passion effort. The announcement landed on September 21, timed to coincide with his birthday. It came bundled with a short teaser that has already caught the attention of the audience.

The film is bankrolled under the banner Kartikeya Creative Works, with his wife Lohitha Reddy taking on producing duties. This marks a personal and professional collaboration between the couple.

The glimpse opens on two characters who are never shown on screen. One of them mentions that it has been three years since anyone heard the boxer’s name in the ring, and admits he assumed the man had quietly switched to another profession by now.

The other, sounding surprised, says he hadn’t even realized so much time had gone by and asks what the fighter could possibly do at this stage. The first voice agrees, calling the whole situation close to a “suicide mission”. Neither of them has any idea what the boxer had been doing during those missing years.

The exchange implies a fallen sports figure attempting an unlikely comeback after vanishing from public life. The mystery around his three-year absence builds suspense, hinting at struggle, reinvention, or personal battles that shaped his decision to step back into the ring against the odds.

The teaser then cuts to Kartikeya himself, skipping rope and throwing punches with visible intensity. He looks lean, disciplined and physically transformed. His reputation as one of Tollywood’s fitness-conscious leading men is intact.

Vijay Bulganin is composing the music for COMEBACK. The technical crew includes Jagadeesh Cheekati handling cinematography, KR Kumar Manne as production designer, Kalyan Suryaprakash editing the film, Shilpa Tanguturu designing costumes, and Surya Akella serving as creative director. Sudheer Telaprolu is on board as the Executive Producer.

Kartikeya has built a varied filmography over the years, including a notable turn in Nani’s Gang Leader and a big-ticket appearance in Ajith’s Tamil biggie Valimai.
