Bhansali’s Love & War With Animal Coded Blood

The makers of Ranbir Kapoor’s Love & War have officially announced the release date of the much-awaited film. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film will arrive in theatres on January 21, 2027.

The new poster has already created curiosity, showcasing Ranbir Kapoor in a stylish and intense avatar. With an injured hand, Ranbir is seen driving a car in a dramatic frame that gives the film a modern, action-oriented feel.

The poster looks cool and completely different from the usual Bhansali visual style, but there is no denying the fact that it is also inspired by Sandeep Vanga’s Animal poster, which also showcased Ranbir with an injured arm. However, one needs to see how violent Ranbir’s role is in this film.

Interestingly, Love & War marks Ranbir Kapoor’s reunion with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after their debut collaboration, Saawariya. Unlike several of his recent films, Love & War is not a costume drama, though it has a period setup. Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal play pilots in this romantic drama.

The film also features Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in important lead roles, making it one of the most talked-about combinations in Bollywood. Ranbir is currently riding high on the success of Animal, which gave his career a major boost and presented him in a completely different image.

Interestingly, he will now have two contrasting films arriving within a short gap. Ramayana: Part 1, in which Ranbir plays Lord Ram, is scheduled to release in November 2026. Just around two months later, Love & War will hit the screens. It will be interesting to see how audiences respond to Ranbir in these two completely different worlds.
