Peddi & Paradise: Perversion In The Name Of Glamour!

Somehow it gives a feeling that young directors, particularly in recent times, are losing a trick in incorporating the heroine roles in their films.

It happened in two films this year: Peddi and The Paradise. Both films have objectified women to the extent that the audience was irritated by those characters.

We have seen it happening with Jahnvi Kapoor’s character in Peddi, who does not wear a pallu and keeps showing too much of her upper body for no reason. And then, Srikanth Odela has the heroine Kayadu Lohar playing an adult film actress in the film.

Unlike Peddi, Srikanth has a reason to show why he chose that path, but then, it is pathetic what followed next.

Firstly, it does not make a difference if there is a heroine in the film or not. And then, the actress resorts to showing skin in all possible ways, and the fact that the character has a reason to become an adult film actress does not give a pass to that.

And then, something even more pathetic happens.

The mother herself shoots intimate content featuring her daughter, whatever, and at one stage, she even praises her daughter for being a single-take artist.

There is no motive or reason for a mother to do that. People on social media are calling it a perversion of the director more than anything else.

Sandeep Vanga has some women-objectification scenes in Animal. That is because many other things really worked for the film.

Just because things worked for Vanga, some directors seem to be following him.

But then, people are calling them out for these scenes, and that is becoming the major reason for the film’s excessive trolling on social media.

It went to the level that Jahnvi Kapoor and Kayadu Lohar will think twice or thrice when another Telugu director approaches them.

Both Buchi Babu and Srikanth Odela must have learned a lesson, but it came at a hefty price.
