Friday Battle: Action Drama Vs Supernatural Fun

Natural Star Nani’s The Paradise was released last week and is expected to become a big box-office blockbuster. Although the film is registering good collections, the movie is not a unanimous blockbuster. The film has faced a lot of negativity, and its performance could slow down on weekdays. In this scenario, moviegoers’ curiosity has already shifted to the upcoming Friday releases.

We have Sandeep Kishan starrer Sigma and Fahadh Faasil starrer Dont Trouble The Trouble (DTTT).

Both movies are being promoted simultaneously in the South, with the team holding multiple events to build buzz. While Sigma mainly targets youth and fans of stylish action dramas with a tinge of humor, the other film caters to all sections of audiences. DTTT targets kids, youth, and even families.

Sigma will significantly draw equal attention from both Tamil Nadu and the Telugu states. In TN, the Vijay factor should work as it marks the debut of Vijay’s son as a director, while Sandeep Kishan is a known face.

Sandeep established himself as a successful actor in both Telugu and Tamil and also acted with stars like Dhanush. If Sigma becomes a hit, Sandeep will have a chance to up his game in Tamil Nadu and improve his market in Telugu also.

On the flip side, the Rajamouli factor will drive families to theatres. The Baahubali producer Shobhu Yarlagadda is producing this film with Karthikeya. Fahadh needs no introduction, and the trailer is already fun, with plenty of supernatural elements.

If the film becomes a hit, Fahadh will also have a market in Telugu like Dulquer Salmaan. The film is also releasing in Tamil and Malayalam, where Fahadh has an existing market, but majorly, since the story is set in Hyderabad, the performance in Telugu will be under scanner.

If both the films manage to gain positive word-of-mouth, that will be a good sign after a slight shake-up at the box office.
