Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 opened big in Tamil and is heading towards a blockbuster despite mixed talk. Interestingly, the second part opened well in Telugu also. Surprisingly, the film is holding up well, and weekend collections are positive.
The Rajini factor, Anirudh’s thumping background score, Nelson’s larger than life elevations and the first part’s success are driving audiences to theatres, and families are also turning up at the cinemas.
On the trade front, Jailer 2 has a big target ahead: entering a safe zone. According to the latest reports from trade experts, the film seems to have already achieved half its target in telugu. So far, the film has grossed over 40 Cr rupees and needs another 40 Cr, which seems possible.
Only one week remains before the Dusshera season ends. Although the festivities will wrap up in the next three days, the rest of the week is still considered a holiday season for schools and colleges. Moreover, no new releases could threaten Jailer 2’s box-office run.
Naga Vamsi, who is working on the post-production of Adarsha Kutumbam, may rejoice in Jailer 2’s strong run. If he can sustain the same momentum for AK, the producer will have a memorable year altogether.
