The latest horror film 418 is getting a decent opportunity at the box office this weekend. With no major releases arriving in theatres this Friday, the Prashanth Neel backed film has managed to attract audiences despite receiving mixed reviews.
One of the biggest advantages for 418 is its genre. In recent times, horror films have often been mixed with comedy and action, leaving audiences waiting for a full-fledged horror experience. 418 has attracted viewers who are interested in watching a movie that focuses mainly on horror.
Though the film has its share of flaws in the second half related to the screenplay, the audience’s curiosity seems to be helping it get decent bookings, especially in Hyderabad. The absence of strong competition has also played a key role in its weekend prospects.
For a film like 418, the weekend is extremely important. If it manages to maintain decent occupancy and attract more audiences through word of mouth, it could improve its box-office performance.
The coming weekdays will be crucial in determining its overall run. A strong weekend alone may not be enough, but steady collections could help it move closer to the safe zone commercially for producers Mythri Movie Makers. Let’s see what happens.
