Niharika’s Pocket Rockets: Ambition Meets Dangerous Gamble

The pursuit of a better future takes an uncertain turn in Pocket Rockets, an upcoming urban drama from Niharika Konidela’s Pink Elephant Pictures, in association with Maximum City Studios. Written and directed by Rudra Atri, the film centres on a brilliant student from an underprivileged background whose ambition to study abroad leads him into the high-risk world of gambling.

For the young protagonist, financial limitations stand between his present circumstances and the life he hopes to build. Gambling enters this equation, drawing him into the orbit of a manipulative gambling shark. This central conflict lends the film its dramatic premise, bringing questions of ambition, vulnerability and personal conviction into a story shaped by the pressures of contemporary urban life. The makers have kept further narrative details under wraps.

Trinadh Varma, known for Committee Kurrollu, and debutant Nirmal headline the film, with Shriya Kontham, recognised for Shubham, playing the female lead. JD Chakravarthy appears in a pivotal role, bringing an established screen presence to the cast.

The film is produced by Padmaja Konidela, Rahul Raghavendra and Rahul Nimmakuri, with Ramesh Manyam as executive producer. The technical team includes cinematographer Edurolu Raju, music composer Gyaani and editor Anwar Ali. Vishnu Vardhan Pulla serves as production designer, Rajesh Lanka handles action choreography, and JD is the choreographer. The wider crew includes specialists across costumes, special effects, makeup and production management.

With filming completed, Pocket Rockets is currently in post-production. The makers are expected to announce the release date and further details soon.
