ENE: Repeat Sets – Crazy Vibes & Tharun Bhascker’s Black Book!

ENE: Repeat is the official sequel to the super hit film Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi. The buddy comedy directed by Tharun Bhasckar has a lot of replay value. Even in the re-release, the film has performed phenomenally well, bringing big money to the producers. Now, with the film’s sequel release around the corner, Gulte got a chance to visit the film’s sets and interact with the film’s cast and crew.

The best part of the film’s set is that everything happens naturally without anyone adding external pressure. Despite having time constraints and other practical problems, no one is stressed and has a chill attitude. Even director Tharun Bhasckar revealed that he would not lose control on set, as it would send panic waves through everyone, and the actors would start delivering lines in a programmed manner. Instead, Tharun wants things candid and jovial wherever improvisations are possible.

Another interesting aspect of the film’s smooth planning is their ‘Black Book.’ It is the film’s own mechanism for how the sets have to function. From script-to-scene division and production schedules to actors’ call sheets and equipment procurement, the team has printed the book with crystal-clear planning.

The book includes a day-to-day schedule that comes in handy for everyone. Every single element, like the edit patterns, the runtime of scenes, and all that is necessary to shoot the film without any stress, has been added to the book. The kind of pre-production the team did is pretty much evident here. If the film turns out to be a success, the mechanism they adopted can be put in place for other films too. Most of the time, Tollywood lacks planning; once it does, everything else falls into place.

Most importantly, the set is filled with energetic, vibrant actors returning to their characters after 8 years. From Vishwak to Anisha, they bring new energy, and Tharun lets them fail in front of the camera by putting them in a non-judgmental space. That’s one way of actors rediscovering themselves for better performance in front of the camera. That said, we also have new actors Shivatmika and Srianth, who are equally excited to be part of this project.

The sets looked really cool, with a great vibe and atmosphere that remind everyone that something epic is in the making. The film is heading for a grand release on November 19th.
