Telugu film’s senior producer V Doraswamy Raju, who produced several successful films including Jr NTR’s Simhadri, Nagarjuna’s Annamayya, President Gari Pellam, ANR’s Seetharamayya Gari Manavaralu, is no more. Doraswamy Raju breathed his last on Monday morning due to age-related illness. He passed away while undergoing treatment at Care Hospital, Banjara Hills.
Doraswamy Raju produced films under VMC (Vijaya Malleswari Combines) Productions banner. Started his career as a distributor, Raju went onto foray into film production and stood as a successful producer. Simhadri had made Jr NTR as a star hero among masses and cemented Rajamouli as a star director. Raju shared great bond with Akkineni family with whom he produced several films.
Raju also served as TTD Board Member, Film Chamber President, Distribution and Council President, Exhibitors Association President.
Doraswamy Raju was a one-time MLA from TDP. He represented Nagari Assembly constituency in 1994. Raju’s contribution to the film industry and people is remarkable. Many in the film industry see Raju’s demise as a great loss to the industry.
