With just a week away from her release from jail, VK Sasikala has been hospitalised after she complained of breathing issues and fever. Initially when Sasikala reported this issue, the jail authorities roped in doctors. However, the doctors have advised to rush her to hospital immediately.
Based on the doctors recommendations, Bangalore’s Parappan Agrahara Prison authorities have admitted Sasikala in a hospital in the city. For now the details of Sasikala’s health status are yet to be known.
Sentenced for four years imprisonment in a disproportionate assets case, Sasikala has been lodged in jail since February 2017. Her punishment is coming to end and she was supposed to get released from jail on January 27th.
There was a huge anticipation on Sasikala’s release and many predicted that she could play a decisive role in Tamil Nadu politics. With the Assembly Elections scheduled later this year, Sasikala’s release could create an impact in AIADMK party.
