Rajini To Revive Shelved Dream Project: Rana

Superstar Rajinikanth and KS Ravi Kumar combination is termed as one of the successful combinations in the Kollywood film industry. The duo earlier delivered blockbusters Padyappa (Narasimha in Telugu), and Muthu. Their third film Lingaa released in theatres amidst huge hype but failed to impress the audiences. Amidst the rumors that Annaatthe is the last film of Rajini, director Ravi Kumar made a statement which is a big relief to all the fans. KS Ravi Kumar recently narrated a script to Rajinikanth to which the Superstar has given a positive nod.

Speaking at the launch of the Android Kunjappan Tamil remake launch event in Chennai, KS Ravi Kumar confirmed being in touch with Rajinikanth. “I am continuously in touch with Rajinikanth sir. Six months back, I narrated the final script of Rana to him, once again. He loved it completely and said that he would like to do it after he gains more physical strength. I’m looking forward to that day.” revealed KS Ravikumar.

Rana was was earlier planned as a pan-Indian film, also featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. After the first day of shoot, Rajinikanth’s health condition worsened and he was rushed to Singapore. Considering the current health condition of Rajinikanth, it might not be possible for the project to take off but let’s see what’s in store!
