Mundasupatti was a hilarious film with an interesting premise. This period comedy movie is being remade in Telugu. Tatineni Satya, who earlier directed SMS and Bheemili Kabadi Jattu, is going to helm the Telugu remake.
A popular production house has paid a fancy price to producer CV Kumar and acquired the Telugu remake rights. It is learnt that a young hero is in talks to reprise Vishnu Vishal in the original.
Set in 1980s in village backdrop, the film revolves around superstitious belief of villagers. The villagers in this village believe they get badluck if they are photographed. The story takes major turn when two photographers visit the village.
Besides the hero, the makers are in talks to rope in a known comedian who will have a throughout role in the film. The original had Kaali Venkat. Nandita Swetha was the heroine.
As several village comedies have worked in Telugu in recent times, producers are keen to materialise this remake at the earliest.
