I Won’t Let My Weakness Leak Anything From Uppena: Chiru

Vaishnav Tej’s Uppena is already riding high with a mammoth prerelease buzz. The movie team celebrated a prerelease event today and Megastar Chiranjeevi graced as the chief guest. Chiranjeevi heaped praises on the story, actors, and all the technicians of the movie and at one point he stopped himself from leaking a crucial element and laughed off right at the moment.

Chiranjeevi started his speech by saying that he has this weakness to reveal the things of suspense at the events and this time he is not going to do it with Uppena. Chiru said he wanted to put a press meet to share his excitement about Uppena after hearing a full narration from the director. But he said he controlled and contained himself from doing so.

The Megastar called Uppena visual poetry and wonder. Chiru said he was shocked when Buchi babu narrated the story and felt the arresting emotions, intriguing screenplay, and such a great story would make it an epic. The Megastar wished Uppena would become another Rangasthalam for the Mythri Movie Makers.

Showering appreciations on the director, Chiru said Uppena will become a benchmark for best screenplay, and how the director executed the ‘dangerous point’ and how he managed to convince the viewers with that element in the movie is simply marvelous.

The talent to sustain the suspense and reveal at the right time leaves us awestruck and Uppena is about to become an example of such technic. Chiranjeevi even said every technician may want to watch this movie to learn more about screenplay and scenes. Chiru recalled 90s’ movie director Bharathi Raja’s rustic wonders and his film making, saying Uppena reminded him of those.

Chiru said, “When Buchi Babu narrated the story, it was so perfect from day one that I could not correct anything in it. But when I asked about that ‘dangerous point’, on how he would convince the audience, the director assured it and he handled that part exceptionally well. Don’t worry I will not leak anything (laughing and turning to the director).”

Makkal Selvan

Chiranjeevi spoke many great things about the Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi. Chiru called him a great human being, very humble, committed, and a versatile actor of India. “He is worshipped in Tamil and he has a huge fan base all over. I recently watched the movie Master and fell in love with Bhavani’s character played by Vijay Sethupathi. During Sye Raa shooting in Georgia, I heard a large crowd turned up at the shooting spot and later learned that they were all Vijay’s fans. It is a stroke of luck for Vaishnav tej that he got Vijay in his debut movie and Vijay being part of it itself is the first success for the movie” said Chiru.

Chiranjeevi appreciated Krithi Shetty and said she performed as she acted in many films earlier though it is her debut movie.

Vaishnav Tej, From Shankar Dada MBBS to Uppena

Speaking about Vaishnav tej, Chiranjeevi said the family is so proud of him. Vaishnav Tej appeared in a small character in Pawan Kalyan’s Johnny, but many might not have remembered that the ‘vegetable’ in a wheelchair in Shankar Dada MBBS is Vaishnav Tej.

Chiru said he thought Vaishnav could be apt for that role as he got very expressive eyes and Vaishnav did really well in that role in Shankar Dada. Chiru blessed Vaishnav tej, saying that getting launched in a banner like Mythri itself lays a great path to the future. Chiru further said, ‘Their passion for movies made them the top producers in the film industry, and my movie with Bobby in Mythri banner is coming up.’

Chiru concluded his speech by saying he believes Uppena will not just a hit or a superhit, but it is on its way to becoming an epic.
