It is all over the news that star director Shankar is directing a straight Telugu movie, that too with Ram Charan in lead. Though it is not official yet, Dil Raju seems to be the producer of it. The combination appears exciting, but many fans of Ram Charan are heard to be super excited but there are others who are skeptical and even worried about it. But why?
The rumors had it that Ram Charan okayed his next project with Jersey director Gautam Tinnanuri, but the latest one that Shankar is in for Charan’s next. Well, Shankar’s last biggest success was more than ten years back, and that was Rajinikanth’s Robot. Shankar managed to direct Nanban with Vijay, I Manoharudu with Vikram, and 2.0 with Rajinikanth, while none of them was a blockbuster. The director started Indian 2 with Kamal Haasan, but the movie is facing multiple hurdles and even unfortunate incidents on the sets.
Some Mega fans are heard to be not-so-happy with Shankar directing Charan. Among many reasons, one is that there was news about a disagreement between the director Shankar and his Indian 2 movie producers Lyca Productions due to an unwanted hefty budget that goes on increasing each day. With no big success in a decade, the pumping up of the monies in the name of grandeur, and the long time taken to finish a movie, some Charan’s fans appear to be not completely okay with their favorite star joining hands with Shankar.
On the other side, there is an update that Dil Raju is producing the movie. Dil Raju earlier was part of Indian 2, but due to the reasons unknown, he walked out. Many of Dil Raju’s admirers felt relieved later about him walking out of the project, seeing the hiccups the blockbuster-sequel is facing at the moment.
It was Megastar Chiranjeevi who openly requested for a movie with Shankar long back, but Ram Charan okaying a movie in his direction must have elated Chiru. The super excited fans are trending the hashtag #RC15 on Twitter while the others are hoping that the movie should be done without any controversies and hiccups.
The official announcement is expected to be made on February 14th.
