Aishwarya Rai’s Dual Role In Mani Ratnam’s Film

After five long years, star actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is making a comeback to cinema. Aishwarya was last seen in ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ in a meaty role alongside Ranbir Kapoor. Now, she is all set to rock the screen with her performance in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyan Selvan.

Interesting development is that the film, Aishwarya is said to be playing dual roles as Mandakini Devi and Nandhini. While one will be a positive, the other one is said to be a negative character. 

The shoot of Mani Ratnam directorial is currently underway in Hyderabad. The film’s cast includes Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, and others in lead roles. The progress in the shoot has been great and the team even shot for a star-studded song.

Mani Ratnam has been handling the shooting process really well with all the COVID-19 protocols being followed properly. Ponniyan Selvan is one of the most awaited films from south film industry.

The film is planned to be made in two parts. This is a film which is inspired by Kalki Krishnamurthy’s historical novel of the same name. This film is a dream project of Mani Ratnam and it has been on his bucket list for a long time now.
