67th National Film Awards: Jersey & Maharsi Grabs 2

The government of India announced the 67th National Film Awards today for the year 2019. The awards were to be announced last year itself but due to the COVID pandemic, the awards announcement was postponed. Today, the government of India has announced the awards for Feature Films and Non-Feature films along with the awards for Best Book on Cinema and Best Critics.

Telugu films Jersey and Maharshi grabbed two awards each.

Jersey received the Best Regional Film Award (Telugu) and also received the Best Editing Award. Nawin Nooli grabbed the award.

Mahesh Babu’s Maharshi is awarded the Best popular film for providing wholesome entertainment. Raju Sundaram also got the Best Choreography award for the film. This is the second National award for Raju Sundaram after Janatha Garage (2016).

Gowtham Tinnanuri directed Jersey. Sitara Entertainments produced the film. Nani and Shraddha Srinath played the lead roles in the film. Touted to be a sports drama, the film received critical acclaim and also met with grand success at the box-office.

Vamshi Paidipally is the director of Maharshi. Sri Venkateswara Creations is the production house.
