How Pooja Hegde Groomed Her Makeup & Transformed Herself?

Pooja Hegde is one of the most admired style icons in India and her brilliant fashion sense wows us every single time, be it at the airport or red carpet or at her vacation. She is also widely complimented for her amazingly flawless skin, her fit body and for her subtle makeup skills. In her latest interview, Pooja shared some of her beauty secrets which are worth taking notes.

Talking about her makeup, she first credited her late makeup artist Subbu. “I was like a tomboy when I entered the film industry. I was that girl who didn’t care about makeup, didn’t apply it, didn’t know what mascara is,” she says. Pooja later met Subbu and he took her shopping for products. 

Talking about her daily skincare routine, Pooja says she is a lay-about. She says she is the laziest person when it comes to taking care of herself. “The only thing I do is, make sure I take off my makeup before I go to sleep. Because it scares me with the fact that we age almost 10 years faster when we sleep with the makeup,” she added.

Pooja Hegde revealed that she has eczema (chronic dry skin) which is why she has to constantly moisturize her skin. Due to eczema, she said she was a little insecure about her skin earlier. But she is confident now and prefers less makeup, making sure to flaunt her natural and flawless skin. She said when she started wearing a lot of makeup, people constantly told her how she looks different on-screen and off-screen. 

“I wanted to be myself. I wanted to break free from these crutches of portraying somebody else and be perfect.” She also proudly unveiled that she wore almost no makeup for her film Housefull where she essayed the role of a Rajkumari. “I just trusted the DOP that he would take care of lighting my face and stuff”, said Pooja. 

Talking about her hair, just like any South Indian, Pooja too swears by coconut oil. “There’s nothing like a nice coconut oil massage for your scalp”.
