As India is grappling through a deadly second wave of Covid19 that has left the nation yearning life-saving resources, the latest A-lister who is throwing her star power to help the crisis is Rakul Preet Singh. She appealed to raise funds for India and joined hands with Give India to provide immediate aid at an on-ground level.
We have many celebrities and also the common public doing their bit as the health system is crumbling with overburned patients. Last year during the first wave, Rakul, along with her family, stepped up to help slums near her Gurgaon home in Delhi by giving two meals a day to almost 600 families. This time too, Rakul supports the on-ground COVID relief efforts of Give India by announcing a fundraiser urging people to donate and contribute towards oxygen supply.
Voicing her concerns over India’s situation, Rakul said “It is heart-rending to hear tragic stories every single day. And the foremost reason for struggling is due to insufficient oxygen and beds. Through this fundraiser with Give India, our aim is to provide support and relief at a ground level with the supplies of oxygen and live-saving equipment”.
She further requested everyone to contribute money as low as Rs 100, with the ultimate aim of collecting a whopping amount if many of us contribute. Earlier, many other celebs have also amplified calls for donation in collaboration with Give India.
