Oscar Award winner AR Rahman turned into a screenwriter with the recent film 99 songs. He also bankrolled the film, apart from writing it. Legendary singer Susheela watched this film recently and went all praises of it. She also requested Rahman to make a biopic of her.
Speaking in a recent interview, Rahman said, “Recently I had a conversation with Susheelamma. During the call, I asked her whether she watched 99 songs. If not, I told her to watch it on Netflix. Her brother was present at that time and I requested him to show her the Telugu version of the movie on Netflix.”
“After watching the movie, Susheelamma called me and appreciated our team. She also asked me to make her biopic as good as 99 songs,” added Rahman. The music director was elated when Susheela asked him to make her biopic. We have to see if Rahman does it in the coming days.
99 songs features Ehan Bhatt and Edilsy Vargas in the lead roles. It was directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy. The Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions of this film are currently streaming on Netflix and Jio Cinema.
