It is unfortunate to learn that prominent dubbing artiste and singer Ghantasala Ratnakumar, who sang in movies like Adbutha Dweepam passed away on Thursday due to a heart attack. Ratnakumar was the second son of the legendary singer Ghantasala.
Ratnakumar had kidney problems was on dialysis for some time. However, he had tested negative for COVID-19 a couple of days ago. The doctors confirmed that he had other health issues which piled up of late and kept him vulnerable the past few days. Ratnakumar died at Kaveri hospital in Chennai after complaining of pain in the chest.
G Ratnakumar was eminently known for his dubbing talent and had shown his prowess for several Telugu dubbed movies from Tamil. Dubbing more than 1000 films, Ratnakumar also entered the India Book of Records for dubbing eight hours non-stop.
The greatest singer of all times, Ghantasala has 4 daughters and 4 sons. He married for the second time after his first wife left for heavenly abode. Ratnakumar was his second son, who had worked tirelessly as a dubbing artiste for almost 40 years. He also lent his voice to over 15K episodes in Telugu and Tamil serials and more than 50 documentaries.
