Asian Group Narayan Das Narang is one of the very few legends who are present in the industry since Chennai days. He financed many films of NTR and ANR in those days.
In an interview, Narayan Das Narang revealed how the industry reacted when NTR floated Telugu Desam Party.
“He announced the party in Bengaluru and arrived at Begumpet Airport. I was the only from industry waiting to receive him. Others in industry believed he would not get more than 10-15 seats and so did not come,” he revealed.
“He went on to win more than 200 seats in the elections. He hugged me when I went to meet him after the elections. He asked me to join the party before and after the elections but I did not,” he added. That means no one from Tollywood trusted NTR when he floated Telugu Desam Party.
Asian Group is into film finance, distribution, and into production. They currently have Naga Chaitanya’s Love Story ready for release and also announced a trilingual film in the combination of Dhanush and Sekhar Kammula.
Coming from Sindh to India after partition, Narayan Das Narang made a huge business empire in Hyderabad. Several interesting combinations are lined up from Asian Cinemas in the coming days.
