Saroj Khan remains to be one of the iconic dance choreographers in the history of Indian Cinema. The 71-year-old artist passed away on July 3rd last year due to health issues. On her first death anniversary, producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series has announced a biopic on Saroj’s life.
In his official statement, Kumar said that Saroj’s accomplished life deserves a film and her story needs to be told on celluloid. “Saroj Ji’s journey that started as early as a 3-year-old was met with a lot of ups and downs and the success and respect she gained from the industry has to be brought to life,” he added.
Kumar thanked Saroj’s daughter Sukaina Khan and son Raju Khan for supporting him in making the film. Currently, the movie is in the scripting stages. Once the script is locked, the cast and crew will be announced.
In a career spanning over four decades, Saroj choreographed more than 3500 songs. She was best known for her collaboration with Madhuri Dixit. She was also a three-time National Award winner.
