Karan Johar’s Rocky and Rani ki Prem Kahani

It looks like Karan Johar shelved his ambitious project Takht and moved on to another film. The ace director announced his new directorial venture titled Rocky and Rani ki Prem Kahani. Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt will play the lead roles in it.

“Yes, it’s a love story, but no – it’s not your regular love story. Rocky and Rani are going to redefine your usual love stories to take you on a journey!” tweeted Karan while announcing this project. This is his first directorial collaboration with Ranveer and second with Alia.

According to reliable sources, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan will play pivotal parts in the film. Touted to be a family drama with an intense love story, we will see Dharmendra and Shabana as Alia’s grandparents while Jaya will be playing the role of Ranveer’s grandmother.

From leads to the supporting cast, everyone is a powerhouse performer and it has to be seen how Karan uses their mettle. Meanwhile, Ranveer and Alia are reuniting after the 2019 film Gully Boy.

Rocky and Rani are written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan, and Sumit Roy. More details about the shoot will be announced soon.
