Telangana film chamber of commerce is fighting for the cause of theaters when some film producers are trying to release their films on OTT. The chamber has called for a Pressmeet today and warned such producers of dire consequences if they do not wait until theaters open.
The chamber has requested the producers to wait until October 30th to decide about the OTT releases in view of the larger interests of the Telugu film industry. “If the theaters do not open by October, you can consider OTT release. Please wait until then. If you do not heed our request, we will be forced to take tough decisions,” Hon. Secretary, Sunil Narang has appealed.
“Things are looking rosy suddenly. Andhra Pradesh Government has released a G.O. today. We are close to normalcy very soon. It’s time we all stand in support of theaters that have earned us money in the last fifty-sixty years. Producers are in pain, I agree, but exhibitors are the worst-affected,” Sunil Narang added.
The Pressmeet has been attended by President Murali Mohan, Vice-President Sridhar, Hon. Secretary Suniel Narang, Abhishek Nama, and other members of the chamber. They have displayed placards with messages like ‘Save Cinema, Save Theaters’.
