Tamil star Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast is being most eagerly awaited by his fans all over the world. The film is gearing up for its theatrical release on April 13th amidst humongous hype. The recently released action-packed trailer and the chartbuster Arabic Kuthu and Jolly O Gymkhana songs have taken the hype around the film to the next level.
Beast’s theatrical trailer, in particular, has been the talk of the town since its release. Shots featuring Vijay as a dashing Indian spy who takes on terrorists across the border have raised the curiosity factor. But these very anti-terrorism scenes have now landed Beast in an unexpected trouble.
The Kuwait government has reportedly banned Beast from being screened in cinemas across the country. The move was preceded by the Kuwaiti film censor panel’s severe objections to certain scenes in Beast which portrayed Islamists as terrorists. Needless to say, this will dent Beast’s box office collections to an extent.
Recently, the Kuwaiti and Malaysian governments had also banned Malayalama star Dulquer Salmaan’s Kurup and Tamil hero Vishnu Vishal’s FIR on similar grounds. Vijay fans are now fearing that Beast will also be banned in Malaysia, where the actor’s films usually register huge collections at the box office.
Beast will have a grand gala world theatrical release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Also starring Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan and Yogi Balu, this action thriller is directed by Nelson Dileepkumar and produced under Sun Pictures. Anirudh Ravichander has scored the soundtrack.
