IPL 2022: Andre Russell Bowls A Record-breaking Spell Against Gujarat Titans

Kolkata Knight Riders’ star all-rounder Andre Russell is known for his brutal batting and six-hitting skills. But today, he proved how good a bowler he is.

In the match held against Gujarat Titans, Russell bowled the crucial 20th over and scalped four wickets in it. That also happens to be his only over in the innings.

Right on the first two balls of the over, Russell scalped the wickets of Abhinav Manohar and Lockie Ferguson. However, Alzarri Joseph denied Russell a hat-trick by taking a single on the third ball. Rahul Tewatia had hit a four on the fourth ball. On the last two balls, Russell scalped the wickets of Tewatia and Yash Dayal respectively.

Thus, Russell ended his spell with impressive figures of 1-0-5-4. With the help of his spell, KKR managed to restrict GT for a score of 156/9.

Russell is the only bowler to scalp four wickets in a one-over spell in T20 cricket. He is also the first bowler to dismiss four wickets in an over in IPL.
