Oops! Congress’ Seethakka Votes For BJP

The polling to elect the 15th President of India has been underway at the respective state assemblies across the country since morning. All the MPs and MLAs have been casting their votes to determine the future of NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu and UPA candidate Yashwant Sinha respectively.

And here’s a major goof-up that took place in Telangana assembly. According to the latest reports, instead of the UPA candidate Yashwant Sinha, Congress Mulugu MLA Seethakka had cast her vote for NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu by mistake. Even though Seethakka pleaded the presiding election officer for another ballot paper to vote again, her request was not entertained as per the existing rules.

Addressing the media after exercising her vote, Seethakka revealed that, while casting her vote, she put a tick mark on the ballot paper. “A lot of ink spilled on the ballot paper and I tried to correct it by wiping it off,” she revealed. She went on to say that her request to the election officer for another ballot paper was not obliged.
