Just two songs, we repeat, the lyrical vides of only two songs been released so far if we have to talk about the promotional aspect of the big budgeted venture “Agent” which features Akhil Akkineni in the lead. Apart from that the young hero has promoted the film in Celebrity Cricket League by wearing a jersey that bears the name ‘Agent’. Is this promotion enough for a film that is scheduled to hit cinemas on April 28th?
Not at all, in all means, the way Agent is promoting the film is not even enough to get a dashing opening even in Telugu states alone. If we look at the way Nani’s Dasara is performing at the box office, the promotions that were spearheaded by the film’s lead are actually responsible for the massive talk around the movie. For non-stop 30 days, Nani promoted the film big time in every nook and corner of India, such that it will get maximum attention. And despite the mixed talk, the film turned out to be a blockbuster by the afternoon itself. That’s how even Akhil needs to act now.
As there is a high budget investment riding on Akhil’s Agent, surely extensive promotions in the media, amidst the live public and on social media are needed to push the film into the audience. Already the new month has started, and we have to see if Akhil and his director Surender Reddy will kickstart the promotional work or not. Hope they don’t give another shock by saying that they have postponed the film again.
