Hyderabad city is observing the auspicious Vinayaka Chaturthi festival today, but the spirits are lightly dampened due to the nonstop rains across the city.
Several pockets of Hyderabad, including Madhapur, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills and other regions witnessed heavy rainfall and waterlogging. Subsequently, there was a lot of traffic issue across the spread.
In particular regions like KamaReddy and Medak had observed extreme rainfall and there is flooding situation all over. The situation is continuing to deteriorate every passing hour due to the non-stop rainfall.
While the city population patiently waited for the Vinayak Chaturthi festival to celebrate the arrival of Ganapathi Bappa, the torrential rains have come as a bummer.
Incidentally, substantial rain as projected to hit the city over the course of the next couple of days as well, and this is something to make note of. For the time being, Hyderabad city has been put on orange alert by the weather department and the authorities are continually assessing the situation.
