Telangana ACB @ 2025: A Big Win Against Corruption

As 2025 comes to an end, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana has a lot to be proud of. The team worked hard and registered 199 corruption cases this year, that means almost one case every two days! In these cases, they arrested 273 people in total.

Most of the action came from “trap” operations, where officers catch people taking bribes red-handed. There were 157 such trap cases, leading to the arrest of 224 people, including 176 government employees. The ACB also recovered over ₹57 lakh in bribe money.

The bureau went after bigger cases too. In 15 cases of disproportionate assets (when government employees own wealth far beyond their known income), the ACB uncovered properties worth a huge ₹96.13 crore.

Another 26 cases involved serious misconduct by officials, resulting in 34 arrests. To keep corruption in check, the ACB carried out 54 surprise checks at places like sub-registrar offices, RTA check posts, and welfare hostels. They also got permission from the government to prosecute accused officials in 115 cases and filed charge sheets accordingly.

Training was another focus area. The ACB trained 73 new officers and taught its team modern skills like tracking hidden properties, tracing money trails, and using digital evidence.

To make it easier for people to report corruption, the ACB launched a simple QR code system during Anti-Corruption Week (held between 3 – 9 December). Anyone, even from remote areas, can now scan the code and file a complaint quickly and safely without going through middlemen.

They also spread awareness through posters, essay competitions for students, rallies, and prize distributions across many districts. Citizens can report bribes by calling the toll-free number 1064, sending a WhatsApp message, or visiting ACB offices where the complainant’s identity is always kept anonymous.

This year’s strong results show that Telangana is serious about fighting corruption. With honest efforts from the ACB team led by Director General Ms. Charu Sinha, IPS, the state is building a cleaner and more transparent system for everyone.
