The political controversy between former YSRCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy and senior party leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has taken a new turn, with TDP MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy supporting Sai Reddy’s claims.
Vijay Sai Reddy recently made serious allegations against the YSRCP leadership. He claimed that Sajjala had physically attacked him during the YSRCP plenary held in Mangalagiri and alleged that the incident happened in the presence of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Sai Reddy also claimed that despite the incident happening in front of Jagan, no action was taken against Sajjala. He further alleged that Sajjala had a much stronger role in the party than many people believed and even described Sajjala as No. 1 and Jagan as No. 2 in the party.
Now, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy has backed the claim about the alleged physical altercation. He said the incident did happen during the Mangalagiri plenary and explained that the dispute reportedly started over the arrangements for speakers at the event.
According to Kotamreddy, an argument developed between Sai Reddy and Sajjala over who should be given an opportunity to speak on the plenary stage. The disagreement reportedly became heated and eventually led to the alleged physical confrontation.
Kotamreddy also recalled other incidents involving Sai Reddy during his time in the YSRCP. He claimed that Sai Reddy had faced several humiliating situations inside the party and said there were incidents that were not publicly discussed at the time.
He also alleged that during an election campaign, Sai Reddy received a large welcome in his native area, with around 100 vehicles reportedly gathering at Kakupalli Centre. Kotamreddy claimed that Sajjala was unhappy with the incident and used abusive language against Sai Reddy.
Meanwhile, Sajjala has rejected VijayaSai Reddy’s allegations against Jagan and the YSRCP. He said Jagan is the only No. 1 leader in the party and that everyone else, including himself and Sai Reddy, are only party workers. Sajjala also accused Sai Reddy of making politically motivated allegations against Jagan after leaving the party.
Sajjala further pointed out that Jagan had given Sai Reddy important responsibilities, including two Rajya Sabha terms and senior positions in the party. He questioned why Sai Reddy would have received such importance if the party leadership had really sidelined him.
