The U.S. immigration crackdown is turning into a nightmare for many, including women married to American citizens. In a shocking case, a U.S. man who supported Trump’s immigration policies never imagined his own wife would be targeted.
Bradley Bartell, a Trump supporter, believed in the promise to remove “criminal illegal immigrants.” But things took a shocking turn when his wife, Camila Muñoz, was detained by immigration officials—despite following the legal process for U.S. citizenship.
Bartell and Muñoz had a happy love story. They got married after two years of dating and were planning their future, saving for a home, and raising Bartell’s 12-year-old son together. But their dream life was shattered last month when immigration officers stopped them at an airport in Puerto Rico while returning from their honeymoon.
“Are you an American citizen?” the officer asked Muñoz. She answered honestly—no, she was from Peru but was already in the process of getting legal status.
Shockingly, she was still detained. And she’s not alone. Reports say many other women in similar situations have also been held by immigration officers, even though they have no criminal records and are legally applying for residency.
Despite growing concerns, U.S. immigration officials have remained silent on these disturbing incidents.
