A young Indian student named Vanshika, who had been untraceable in Ottawa for four days, has sadly been found dead. Her body was discovered near a beach, and police are currently investigating the mysterious circumstances around her death.
Originally from Punjab, Vanshika had moved to Canada two years ago to pursue higher education. Her sudden disappearance after she stepped out to visit a rental property raised immediate concern among friends and family, especially after she missed an important exam the next day.
Local Indian community groups had urged police to act swiftly. Despite their efforts and appeals, the worst fears were confirmed when her body was located.
The Indian High Commission has acknowledged the incident and is working closely with the local authorities as well as Vanshika’s family to provide support. Police have not yet disclosed the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing. Vanshika father is AAP leader in Punjab.
