From Bhimavaram To Dy Mayor In UK

Telugu man Aryan Uday Areti, belonging to Thundurru in Bhimavaram mandal in West Godavari district, was elected as the Deputy Mayor of Kensington-Chelsea of Royal Borough in Britain. He took oath as the Deputy Mayor late on Wednesday night, his family members informed. His family and friends expressed happiness over Uday being elected as the Deputy Mayor in a foreign country. It is a great pride for the Telugus to have Uday at the helm of affairs in a major UK city, they felt.

Uday is the grandson of Areti Veeraswamy and Gobbellamma. Uday’s father Venkata Satyanarayana worked as the principal of a reputed educational institution in Bhimavaram. Aryan studied at St. Mary School till Class VII. Having a passion towards playing tennis, Uday shifted to Hyderabad where he continued his academics till Intermediate. Then he did his graduation in Bhimavaram and MBA in Narasapur. He completed his MS in London and worked as the secretary of the UK Telugu Association.

Later, he became an active member in the conservative party and his political acumen helped him get elected as the councillor twice in 2018 and 2022, from the same party. Serving as the councillor of Kensington-Chelsea, he contested for the Deputy Mayor post and got elected. He will continue as the Deputy Mayor till 2026.

At present, he is also the executive member of the Conservative Party in Britain and vice president of Europe India Centre for Business and Industries. Aryan Uday has been the trusted lieutenant of Britain former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Recently, he met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and thespian Chiranjeevi in London.
