An Indian-origin techie, Pratik Pandey, was found dead in Microsoft office in the US on August 20. The cause of the death is yet to be ascertained, Santa Clara County medical examiner.
His family members suspect working late into the night frequently could have led to the death. Pandey worked on Microsoft’s Fabric, a data analysis product and competes with companies like Snowflake Inc. He reported up through cloud and AI chief Scott Guthrie, an executive vice president.
In 2020, he joined Microsoft. Before that he worked in Walmart Inc. and Apple Inc., according to his LinkedIn profile. He was an alumnus of San Jose State University. Bloomberg reported that Pandey entered the office in the evening on August 19 and was found dead in the early hours on the next day. Microsoft is still investigating into the reason behind the death. The company did not issue any statement.
Police said that they did not find any signs of suspicious activity or behavior, and the death is not being treated as a criminal investigation. His family is trying to get his body to India, with the help of the community members.
